Lisbon

— Police were called at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday to North Vine Street for a theft at a rental home. The owner said he was working on his house on May 23 and left to go to the bathroom at his actual home. When he returned to the rental home, a bucket of air tools valued at $150, two large glass block windows worth $140 and a bucket of bolts were stolen from the property. Officers were keeping an eye out for the stolen items.

— A man was reported cutting power lines in the 800 block of North Market Street at 1:49 p.m. Monday. An officer spoke to the man, who said the telephone lines were laying along the driveway so he cut them so cars could get through. The next-door tenant confirmed what he said. Lisbon Fire Department responded to assist with removing the rest of the telephone lines, which were rolled up and placed near the pine tree near the driveway. The man was told not to cut anymore line and to call if any are found laying on the ground. The landlord said the telephone lines don't work anymore, so he didn't care about them.

— An elderly man was reported having chest pains on Pine Street Extension at 3:03 a.m. Monday. Police stood by until NorthStar EMS arrived and transported him to St. Elizabeth in Youngstown.

— A suspicious male was reported at 5:23 p.m. Sunday on Grant Street, but was not found.

— An alarm drop was reported at 10:26 a.m. Sunday on North Beaver Street. All house doors were secure, but an open side door was located on the garage and checked. Nothing and no one was located.

— Police responded to the Lepper Library, East Lincoln Way, at 4:29 p.m. Saturday regarding a male being there that library personnel wanted trespassed from the property. Library personnel had previously shown officers an outside table where he engraved his name. Officers told the male he was not allowed back in the building or on the grounds and would be trespassing if he returned.

— An alarm drop was reported at 10:44 a.m. Saturday on South Jefferson Street. All doors were secure.

— A child was reported screaming on West High Street at 9:06 p.m. May 26. Officers made contact with a woman who said her newborn was screaming and crying from her other daughter playing with her while she was trying to sleep.

— A possible break-in was reported at 11:14 p.m. May 25 on Maple Street. A caller said his neighbor told him they thought someone was in their garage. Everything was locked up and there were no signs of forced entry.

— A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Shale parking lot off of state Route 154 at 7:04 p.m. May 22.

— A vehicle with no plate and a hood partially cracked was reported in the gravel lot across from the police station at 7:02 p.m. May 22. An officer checked and advised it's been there for a year.

— A medical was reported at Apple Grove Apartments on Saltwell Road at 8:40 p.m. May 19. The woman was taken to a hospital by paramedics.

— A reckless driver was reported at 11:16 a.m. May 19 at Smith Oil on East Lincoln Way. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the female driver who gave a name and said she had not been driving recklessly. She was told to be careful driving and given a warning. Police later learned that she had lied about her name and did not have a valid driver's license. Tonya Bebout, 47, Chester, W.Va., was charged with driving under suspension and obstructing official business.

— Police were called at 9:48 p.m. May 15 to West Washington and Lincoln Avenue for a possible domestic dispute. Both parties said it was just an argument and they would keep it down.

Perry Township

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Pigeon Road at 2:35 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived, the vehicle had already left. Officers checked the surrounding area and nearby businesses but were unable to locate the vehicle.

–Officers spoke to a woman by phone at 2:31 p.m. Friday who advised her boyfriend had moved out and she wanted his belongings out of the apartment. Officers advised the caller it was a civil matter and advised her of her options.

–Officers responded to the 1500 block of State Boulevard at 1:29 p.m. Friday for a report of a missing dog. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the dog. It was discovered through Facebook that the dog had run off and had been located at a nearby business.

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of Pembrooke Drive at 6:53 p.m. May 25, for a noise complaint. The caller advised that a car there has loud exhaust, and they would like officers to speak with them. The owner of the vehicle advised that while he was out of town someone had attempted to cut off his catalytic converter and that he was just waiting for the time and money to get it fixed. His information was gathered for the report.

–Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 6:26 p.m. May 25, for a domestic complaint. The caller advised that their boyfriend had been abusive in the past and she was afraid to have him in the residence anymore, and that she has kicked him out and he is gathering his things later in the evening when he gets off work. Officers advised her to call if anything physical occurs while he is gathering his belongings.

–Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 5:03 p.m. May 25 for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the man in question who advised he was fine and just didn't have his phone on him. Officers let him know his sister would like him to call her back.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of Cunningham Road at10:30 a.m. May 25, for a report of cows at large. Officers located the cows and made contact with the owners who responded to retrieve them.

–Officers responded to residence in the 900 block of Andrew Avenue at 6:42 a.m. May 25, for a reported structure fire. Officers found the fire showing from the basement and blocked the roadway until the fire department could extinguish the fire.

–Officers responded to a residence in the 800 block of East Third Street at 7:35 p.m. May 24, to assist Salem officers with a reported trespass. Officers stood by until no longer needed.

–Officers responded to the 1700 block of West State Street at 9:48 a.m. May 24 for a reported theft. The caller advised that his outboard motor was stolen off his boat while it was sitting in his front yard. The caller advised the motor was a gray 9.9 Mariner outboard tiller motor with a maroon band around it. No serial number was given.

–Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:41 p.m. May 23 for a report of several kids playing by the road without adult supervision. Officers found seven children out by the road with no adults around and asked them if there were any adults home. The children advised there were not, and officers walked the children from the edge of the road to the house, and contacted children's services, advising them of the situation. Officers stood by until the mother could be reached and arrived at the house. The mother was informed that children's services had been contacted.

–Officers responded to Circle K at 4:18 p.m. May 23 for a report of a truck with a gas nozzle stuck in it. Officers assisted with the removal of the nozzle from the truck's fuel neck.

–Officers spoke with a woman by phone at 9:54 a.m. May 22 that said a nurse had accused her of trying to steal a fork and that she had returned it to the nurse by throwing it down the hallway. The caller advised that she did not throw it at anyone, but the nursing supervisor had told her that charges could be filed since it was thrown around the nurse. No call was made by the nursing facility when the incident occurred, and the caller wanted a report on file.

East Palestine

— Officers responded at 6:13 p.m. to the East Palestine City Park pool to a report of juveniles causing issues on Monday. Both juveniles were ejected from the pool.

— Officers responded at 3:49 p.m. on Monday to the East Palestine City Park to a report of the odor of marijuana coming from the girls’ bathhouse. Officers did not detect any marijuana odor and did not locate anything illegal in the bathhouse.

— Officers conducted a welfare check at 9:44 a.m. on E. Main St. on Monday but determined the subject no longer resided at the address

— Officers responded at 11:34 p.m. on Saturday to a traffic complaint on state Route 14.

— Officers took a report at 10:40 p.m. from a woman who reported a man was harassing her juvenile son at the street fair on Saturday.

— Officers cite Cody Clark, no address or age given, at 9:53 p.m. for marijuana possession on Saturday following a traffic stop on Kemple Dr.

— Officers took a report at 8:54 p.m. of a juvenile making threats against another juvenile on N. Market on Saturday.

— Officers responded at 6:09 p.m. to a N. Market business for a male subject causing a disturbance. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the subject.

— Officers responded at 5:41 p.m. to E. Main St. for a report of a bat inside the residence. Officers were able to retrieve the animal, which was deceased, and dispose of it.

— Officers conducting a walk through of a parking lot on N. Market during the street fair located a vehicle with a smell of marijuana coming from it on Friday. While investigating the matter, officers made contact with Timothy Feget, no age or address given, and discovered an open container of alcohol. Feget was cited.

— A purse was found on N. Market by a vendor at the street fair on Friday. No identification was inside. The purse was placed in evidence.

— Officers responded at 7:50 p.m. to N. Market to a report of a subject selling items without a permit on Friday. Officers advised the subject that a permit was needed.

— Officers responded at 6:27 p.m. to N. Market to a report of a verbal altercation at the street fair. When officers arrived, it was determined that one party had already left the fair.

— Officers responded at 10:18 p.m. to N. James St. to a report of two juveniles walking towards the train tracks in the WYG ReFactories parking lot on Thursday. Officers observed one juvenile dispose of a cigarette when the police car approached. Officers seized a pack of cigarettes from the juvenile and transported the two back to their residence. The matter was forwarded to juvenile court.

— Officers observed a man urinating behind a dumpster at the car wash on N. Sumner St. at 9:46 p.m. on Thursday. The man was issued a warning for public indecency.

— A man reported at 8:05 p.m. on Thursday that approximately 20 bicycles were stolen from a residence on E. North Ave. sometime over the weekend. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded at 4:09 p.m. to a private property crash on E. Taggart St. on Thursday.

— Officers responded at 11:52 a.m. to a death investigation on E. Taggart St. on Thursday.

— Officers responded at 1:42 a.m to a report about a cable line damaged by a semi truck turning around in an alley on N. Walnut on May 24. Officers located the line and Comcast repaired it. Officers made contact with the truck driver and no damage to the truck was reported.

— Officers responded at 4:56 p.m. to a hang-up 911 call made from a W. Main St. residence on May 24. The resident advised officers she accidentally dialed the number.

— Officers responded to an East Palestine location at 7:49 p.m on May 24 that was provided by a female in Cleveland who has a camper at Punderson State Park in Newberry. The woman had received a notification from Apple Air Tag that stated the camper was currently in a location in East Palestine. Officers checked the address provided but could not locate a camper. The female later learned her camper was still in Newberry and that the Apple Air Tag had most likely malfunctioned.

— Officers responded at 8:17 p.m. to a report of a domestic disturbance at Park Ave on May 24. Officers arrested Ronald Johnson, no age given, for domestic violence, and he was transported to the county jail.

— Officers responded at 11:08 p.m. to E. Taggart St. to a report of noises coming from the train derailment site on May 23.. Officers checked the area and did not detect any noises.

Leetonia

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Front Street at 5:43 p.m. Friday for a report of a person opening doors and hoods of Jeeps on the property. Officers were familiar with the owner of the Jeeps and contacted the Perry Township Police Department to send an officer to advise the owner to contact the department. The owner advised the person was his son.

–Officers on patrol in the area of Washington Street and Walnut Street observed a vehicle parked along the north railroad tracks at 2:05 p.m. Friday. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle as he came out of a wooded area to the east with three young male juveniles, who advised he was showing the juveniles where he grew up riding dirt bikes on the White Stone property and used to fish. Officers asked the man if he had permission to be on the property and he advised he did not. Officers informed him he was trespassing on that property and on Norfolk Southern's property and that he could not be there. The man apologized and advised they would leave. The man was issued a verbal warning for the trespass.

–Officers responded to state Route 30 at 8:10 a.m. May 25 for a report of a vehicle exiting state Route 344 at a high rate of speed by Ohio State Highway Patrol, who advised they had clocked him at 103 miles per hour. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.

–Officers responded to the 200 block of Main Street at 2:29 p.m. May 20, for a report of a vehicle parked on the sidewalk. Officers found a vehicle parked slightly in the grass but not on the sidewalk and were unable to contact anyone at the residence. The neighbor advised that the owner walks to work at a nearby business and officers went there to speak with him. The owner advised the vehicle has been parked there since Thursday and that this was part of an ongoing issue with the Italian American Club.

Highway Patrol

–Robert Gray, 72, East Palestine, was cited for left of center after his southbound vehicle on state Route 170 struck the mirror of a vehicle driven northbound on state Route 170 by John Bosley, 39, East Palestine at 3:17 p.m. Tuesday in Middleton Township. No injuries were reported.

–Tavia Birnesser, 26, New Waterford, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her southwest bound vehicle on state Route 39 struck the rear of a vehicle driven southwest by Robert Dickson, 37, Salineville, at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday in Washington Township. No injuries were reported.

–Sally Domagalski-Johnson, 81, Struthers was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her eastbound vehicle on U.S. Route 62 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by John Abicht, 74, Orrville, before continuing off the right side of the roadway striking a ditch at 6:50 p.m. May 25, in Knox Township. Abicht and Domagalski-Johnson were transported to Alliance Hospital by Sebring EMS for suspected minor injuries.

–Cody Beohm, 18, Washingtonville, was cited for failure to control after his northbound vehicle on Lisbon Road went off the right side of the roadway and lost control, going off the left side of the roadway, striking logs and a tree at 11:46 a.m. May 23 in Salem Township. No injuries were reported.

–William Gibson, 25, Canfield, was cited for a marked lanes violation after his northwest bound vehicle on Sprucevale Road went off the right side of the roadway striking a culvert and a fence at 5:27 p.m. May 20, in Middleton Township. No injuries were reported.

–Michael McQueen, 65, Minerva, was cited for right of way after his southbound vehicle on Bandy Road ran a stop sign and was struck in the right side by a vehicle driven eastbound on Bowman Road by Richard bates, 47, Homeworth, at 5:50 p.m. May 21 in Knox Township. No injuries were reported.

–Joel Lodge, 32, Lisbon, was cited for assured clear distance ahead and driving under suspension after his southbound vehicle on Lisbon Road struck the rear of a vehicle driven southbound by James Hilliard, 48, North Benton at 3:46 p.m. May 21 in Salem Township. No injuries were reported.

–Jocelyn Gibson, 19, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after her southbound vehicle on state Route 11 went off the left side of the roadway, striking the median and continuing over into the northbound lanes striking a ditch and overturning at 1:44 a.m. May 21 in Fairfield Township. No injuries were reported.
